ABILITY (3362), a leading notebook lens manufacturer, filed a patent infringement lawsuit against PTIC, a lens manufacturer, for requesting to stop the infringement, destroy the infringing products, compensating damages and so on. The Intellectual Property and Commercial Court (IPCC) of Taiwan ruled in the first instance that ABILITY’s complaint and the provisional execution appeal were dismissed.
ABILITY presented yesterday (10) that the lawyers have appointed to study and intend to the appeal to protect the company’s intellectual property rights and safeguard the interests of all shareholders.
The cause of litigation between two parties is that ABILITY filed a civil lawsuit in April 2022 in the IPCC of Taiwan against PTIC; ABILITY claimed that PTIC’s three-plate type and four-plate type optical lenses for thin notebook computers infringed on R.O.C. Patent Nos. I572888, I561850, I546561, and I580996 of optical imaging system inventions.
