[Breaking News/Comprehensive Report] LG Display Co., Ltd, South Korean panel manufacturer, filed an infringement lawsuit against Tianma Microelectronics Co., Ltd, Chinese panel manufacturer, in District Court for the Eastern District of Texas of the U. S., on the 13th local time, accusing Tianma of infringing on LG Display’s seven patent technologies.
Yonhap News Agency, according to industry sources, today (16) reported that LG Display Co., Ltd claimed in its lawsuit against Tianma that Tianma’s LCD (liquid crystal Display), OLED (organic light-emitting diode) screen and automotive display technologies infringed on LG’s multiple patents.
According to the report, this is the first time that LG Display filed the patent infringement lawsuit against the Chinese company, and the action is also interpreted as LG Display’s determination to stop Chinese companies from stealing technology.
LG Display said, “Patent infringement is an illegal theft of time, money, and manpower invested in technology development, and we will resolutely respond through litigation”.
