MPI (6510) announced yesterday (the 3rd) that its consolidated revenue for March was 487 million, an increase of 17.2% compared to the previous month and 25.5% compared to the same period last year. The revenue for the first quarter reached 1.357 billion TWD, a yearly increase of 17.8%. Both the monthly and quarterly revenues hit new record highs. The company stated that it benefited from the continued strong demand for high-speed test load boards related to high-performance computing (HPC), which provided strong momentum for overall revenue.
MPI explained that the main contribution to March revenue came from HPC demand and engineering verification of probe cards for application processors (AP). AI hardware is moving from simple “content generation” toward physical AI and edge AI that have the ability to sense, make real-time decisions, and respond. As a result, the demand for high-speed test load boards has greatly increased.
Recently, MPI has taken “expanding production capacity and strengthening research and development” as its core strategy. It is increasing capacity to solve bottleneck processes and meet customer needs, in response to the next wave of growth in the semiconductor industry driven by AI. The company continues to invest more in advanced R&D processes for high-speed test load boards, focusing on the high bandwidth and high power characteristics required by AI, to ensure it can meet customers’ future specifications. This year, revenue shows a quarter-by-quarter growth trend, strengthening its leading position in the high-end test interface supply chain.
MPI also received a notice from the Intellectual Property and Commercial Court regarding an interim judgment in a first-instance patent infringement case recently. MPI stated that it values intellectual property rights and conducts independent research and development. Although a semi-finished probe product under testing was judged to fall within the scope of the disputed patent, the company will file an appeal and will do its best to protect the rights and interests of the company and its shareholders.
