Everlight recently welcomed their landslide victory by receiving a judgment from the Board of Appeal for Europe Patent Office. The judgment showed that the Board agreed on Everlight’s appeal claiming Nichia’s patent to be invalid and the Board also decided the whole claims of Nichia’s European patent EP2197053 to be invalidated.
Before Everlight won the lawsuit to invalidate the YAG patents against Nichia in Europe, it has also won the same in the U.S., Australia, China and Taiwan respectively.
