PFG Fiber Glass accused its former veteran staff, Chen Kuan-Zan, of illegally copy the technical drawings and manufacturing processes by pictures. Chen tuned to work for Taishan Fiberglass, which is the rival company to PFG Fiber Glass, after his retirement in 2017. PFG Fiber Glass sued Chen because it was sure that its intellectual property rights and the trade secrets were infringed. The Taiwan Chiayi District Court imposed a three-year-and-four-month sentence on Chen for violating the Trade Secret Act. PFG Fiber Glass and the prosecutor were not happy with the result and appealed against it.
